honert advises lead investor In Series C extension round in AMSilk GmbH
honert provided comprehensive legal advice to the lead investor AT Newtec GmbH within the extension round of the Series C financing of AMSilk GmbH.

Munich, 13 April 2023
Dr. Kai-Klemens Wehlage and Sven Fritsche of honert münchen PartG mbB have adviced the lead investor AT Newtec GmbH in a Series C extension round of AMSilk GmbH (“AMSilk”). In this extension round, AMSilk succeeded in raising additional funds in the amount of EUR 25 million, bringing the total volume of the Series C Round to EUR 54 million. In addition to AT Newtec GmbH, Novo Holdings, Cargill and MIG Capital also participated in the extension round.
The financing will enable AMSilk to accelerate further expansion of its industrialization and commercialization projects worldwide to meet the ever-increasing demand for the company’s innovative biotech materials.
AMSilk is the world’s first industrial supplier of vegan silk proteins and is based in Neuried/Munich. It produces biotechnological materials using plant-based structural proteins. Through a patented biotechnological process, AMSilk transforms artificial proteins into sprayable formulations, hydrogels and silk powders for further processing into textiles, medical applications or for applications in the consumer goods sector. Due to the special properties of the silk proteins, AMSilk’s biotech materials are not only extremely robust, but also particularly environmentally friendly due to their biocompatibility and fully degradability.
