honert supports Salvia in its investment in Wingcopter

PRESS RELEASE

Munich, 29 June 2022

Led by Dr. Kai-Klemens Wehlage and Sven Fritsche, honert provided legal and tax advice to the investor Salvia on the acquisition of a participation in Wingcopter GmbH.

The German delivery drone manufacturer and service provider Wingcopter raised a total of $ 42 million in a financing round, tripling its equity. In addition to REWE Group and XAI technologies, the Family Office Salvia, among others, also participated.

The new financing round will enable Wingcopter to further expand its drone delivery services worldwide and intends to ramp up production of the world’s most efficient eVTOL delivery drone, the Wingcopter 198, and hire new employees. In addition, semi-automated production will also be launched in the future, significantly accelerating the production process.

“At Wingcopter, we develop efficient and sustainable drone solutions that save and improve lives. That is why we are hiring passionate pioneers with whom we are building something that hasn’t been done before. The new funding combined with increasing revenues puts us in a great position to establish our market-leading drone delivery system with our customers around the world to optimize supply chains,” said Tom Ploemmer, co-founder and CEO of Wingcopter.

Helmut Jeggle, founder & managing partner of Salvia adds: “With its pioneering technology and extremely motivated team, Wingcopter has the potential to become the leading provider in the field of drone deliveries. In the face of global challenges such as climate change, it takes such innovative companies to lead an industry like logistics into a sustainable, efficient future. We look forward to accompanying this success story from now on as an investor and sparring partner.”
