A team from honert provided comprehensive legal and tax advice to the shareholder of h/p/cosmos sports & medical GmbH on the sale of the majority of the company shares to Thyssen’sche Handelsgesellschaft m.b.H. (THG). The founder and previous owner, Franz Harrer, will remain with the company as a co-shareholder for the long term.

Since its founding in 1988 by Franz Harrer and Manfred Pelz, h/p/cosmos has developed into one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality treadmill systems for diagnostics, rehabilitation, and competitive sports. With an export percentage of around 80 percent and annual sales of approximately 17 million euros, the company is now represented in over 90 countries and is considered a global technology leader. In its 37-year history, the company has played a decisive role in shaping the development of modern treadmill technologies through a series of technical innovations in this sector.

THG is a long-term, family-oriented investor with holdings in Germany and abroad. While THG provides strategic support and resources for the future development of h/p/cosmos, operational management remains in the capable hands of the existing management team.

With THG as a strong partner, h/p/cosmos can expand its global presence and implement innovations even faster. Together with THG, h/p/cosmos plans to further expand its global presence, tap into new markets, and drive forward the development of innovative products.
