honert advises shareholders of the Neumann Group on the sale to Igneo

PRESS RELEASE

Munich, August 17, 2026

A team from honert advised the shareholders of the Neumann Group on the sale of their shares to Igneo.

The Neumann Group, headquartered in Burg near Magdeburg, is a leading European provider of recycling and waste management services. With approximately 320 employees and an integrated platform, the company processes around 1.5 million metric tons of residual ash from municipal waste-to-energy plants annually. This allows the Neumann Group to recover valuable raw materials and produce high-quality secondary building materials—its services include recycling, logistics, and waste disposal for operators of waste-to-energy plants.

Igneo Infrastructure Partners is the independent investment team of the First Sentier Group and has specialized in infrastructure investments since 1994. The team invests in established companies in the renewable energy, digital infrastructure, waste management, water supply, and transportation and logistics sectors in the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand. Igneo works closely with its portfolio companies, focusing on innovation, responsible investing, and active asset management.
As of June 30, 2026, the team managed 26.1 billion euros on behalf of more than 200 investors worldwide.
Igneo is (indirectly 100%) owned by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc., headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Upon completion of the transaction, which is expected to take place in the fourth quarter of 2026, Igneo and, as is customary, the management—in particular André Hartl as CEO and former co-owner of the Neumann Group—will hold stakes in the Neumann Group.
