Led by Dr. Kai-Klemens Wehlage and Prof. Dr. Thomas Grädler, honert provided comprehensive tax and legal advice to Naughty Nuts GmbH on a seed financing round.

FoodLabs and Bitburger Ventures, existing investor Döhler Ventures and business angels Ole Strohschnieder, Béla Seebach (Just Spices) and Philip Kahnis (Hafervoll, Polly) participated in this financing round.

The food startup will invest the newly raised capital in further developing the German-speaking market, expanding its product portfolio and strengthening its team. In addition, Naughty Nuts intends to expand into other markets outside the German-speaking region.

Benjamin Porten, who founded the Cologne-based company together with Lorenz Greiner in January 2021, says about the investment: “With Bitburger Ventures and FoodLabs, we are bringing on board two renowned partners with broad know-how and strong portfolios in the areas of DTC, food and retail. In addition to our existing partner Döhler Ventures, we are thus creating a complementary group of shareholders that will support us enormously in the upcoming growth phase. We are looking forward to our joint journey and close cooperation.”

The food startup focuses on nuts as a superfood. Naughty Nuts uses only 100% natural ingredients with transparent origins for its nut puree and avoids refined sugar, palm oil and other additives. All varieties are vegan. The products are sold via the company’s own online store at www.naughtynuts.de.
