Legal traineeship

After completing the written exams for the second state examination, I completed my legal traineeship at the Munich office of honert. I can quickly draw a conclusion: it was a very exciting three months, both professionally and personally, which I would not want to miss in my experience.

During this time, I was able to work on a number of corporate transactions and thus become fundamentally familiar with the processes involved in this activity. In addition, I was involved in general business, corporate and tax law issues with current clients. This gave me a comprehensive overview of how varied the work of a lawyer in a boutique firm can be.

The tasks assigned to me, which I was usually able to handle on my own, were always challenging. However, there was always the possibility to turn to any colleague who took the time when questions arose. I was also given feedback on the results of my work which allowed me to gain real added value and experience for myself.

In addition, I could work with different lawyers as well as partners. I was not directly assigned to one person. This provides a valuable opportunity to get to know different working styles and substantive specializations.

From a personal point of view, I was always completely trusted. If I had other appointments during my traineeship, it was no problem to skip that day or to postpone the workday. In other respects, too, it was largely left up to me how often I wanted to come in.

In a nutshell: I would do this legal traineeship again in exactly this form.
