honert advised the management of Engelmann Sensor GmbH on the sale of the company by NORD Holding Unternehmensbeteiligungsgesellschaft mbH and capiton AG as well as other shareholders to funds advised by Deutsche Private Equity.

The management team around CEO Michael Keuthen, CFO Dietrich Fabricius and Head-of-Sales Benedikt Heid will continue to work for Engelmann Sensor.

Engelmann Sensor is the leading European manufacturer of intelligent heat meters for the sub-metering industry. In recent years, Engelmann Sensor has been able to develop its extensive product portfolio in the direction of a preferred system provider and thus continuously expand its market position. Driven by extensive R&D activities, Engelmann Sensor provides its broad customer base with a high-quality “one-stop-shop” offering for sub-metering in the residential and real estate industry.

The company employs 170 people at two production sites (Wiesloch, Germany and Suining, China) and generated sales of more than EUR 45 million in the 2020/21 financial year. Due to regulatory requirements as well as the general climate goal of de-carbonization, an increasing penetration of smart meters is expected in the coming years, which will contribute to the future growth of Engelmann Sensor.
In 2014, NORD Holding and capiton acquired a majority stake in Engelmann Sensor. Important milestones were the successful development of a new management team, the improvement of operational efficiency, the introduction of new products and the successful diversification of the customer structure. The measures taken contributed to the achievement of double-digit annual sales growth with leading delivery performance. In addition, Engelmann Sensor today has the latest sub-metering product range on the relevant market.

The parties have agreed not to disclose further details.
